General qualification
The applicant or its qualifying individual must be at least 18 and have the experience and skills needed to manage construction operations, including field supervision.
Four years within ten years
The qualifier generally needs at least four full years of journey-level or higher experience in the requested classification during the ten years immediately before filing.
Education can replace only part of experience
CSLB may grant up to three years of credit for qualifying education, apprenticeship, or training. At least one year must remain practical experience.
Each classification needs a qualifier
The qualifier may be the owner, partner, officer, member, manager, or a bona fide Responsible Managing Employee, depending on entity type.
